Some Things You Will Never Do in Heaven (Part 1)
Dear Christian friends, you probably did not realize it, but it is very likely you will do some things today that you will never do in heaven. No, I'm not talking about sinful activities, although it would be true that you will not commit any of those in heaven. I'm thinking of certain actions that should remind us that we, as Christians, are not at home in this world. There are little things that we do (some on a daily basis), and these things should remind us that planet Earth is really just the beginning of our existence. God has something much better in store for His faithful children than a physical life, and there are numerous reminders of this fact, if we are willing to take note of them.

1. IN HEAVEN, YOU WILL NEVER GO TO THE MEDICINE CABINET.
There won't be any medicine cabinets because you won't need any medicine in heaven! Revelation 21:4 teaches us that there will be no pain in heaven. If there is no pain there, then certainly there will be no purpose for medicine. Can you imagine your life with no medicine? I'm sure you can if you're 20 or 30 years old, but probably not if you're 70 or 80. As we age, we deteriorate. More and more problems arise in our physical bodies over the years, requiring increased medical attention. How wonderful would it be to have no pain and not have to take a single pill? Wouldn't it be wonderful not to suffer with headaches, arthritis, high blood pressure, diabetes, viruses, and a million other aches, pains, and diseases? Wouldn't it be wonderful to never have to go to the doctor again? Oh, it certainly would! On Earth there will always be a time and a place for medicine, but not in heaven. Don't you want to go there?

2. IN HEAVEN, YOU WILL NEVER ATTEND A FUNERAL.
Revelation 21:4 also teaches us that there will be no death in heaven. There will be no dying there--only life. Won't that be grand? There won't be any tearful goodbyes or painful separations either. You won't have to view a body lying lifeless in a casket. You won't have to go to a cemetery for a burial. In heaven, it won't be necessary to comfort those who have lost their loved ones. I am thankful that in heaven I won't need to preach any funerals, and you won't have to attend any. You never have to say goodbye in heaven. On Earth there will always be funerals because there will always be physical death, but not in heaven. Don't you want to go there?

3. IN HEAVEN, YOU WILL NEVER TURN ON A LIGHT SWITCH.
Don't we all do this on a daily basis? Absolutely, but you won't have to turn on a light switch in heaven. Why not? Because there is no darkness there! Revelation 21:23 reveals - "The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light." Heaven doesn't need any artificial light because Jesus is all the light we need! Wouldn't it be nice not to have to turn on a light when it gets dark? Indeed, it would. On Earth there will always be a need for lights and light switches, but not in heaven. Don't you want to go there?

We will continue these thoughts in our next lesson.
