If I Miss Heaven...
Although the author is unknown, I saw an excellent bulletin article recently and have modified it below for your consideration.

If I miss heaven, I'll miss the grandest, most glorious place ever conceived.
Revelation 21:4 - "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." What could be more glorious than no suffering, grief, or loss of life?

If I miss heaven, I'll miss a grand reunion with Christian family members who preceded me.
Genesis 49:33 - "And when Jacob had finished commanding his sons, he drew his feet up into the bed and breathed his last, and was gathered to his people."

If I miss heaven, I'll realize the tragedy of taking for granted the blood of Christ shed in sacrifice for me.
Hebrews 2:9 - "But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone."

If I miss heaven, I'll recall forsaken opportunities to be a child of God and a faithful follower of the Savior.
Abraham's words to the rich man in Luke 16:25 remind us of this truth - "Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented."

If I miss heaven, I'll never again see the light of day.
Matthew 25:30 - "And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

If I miss heaven, I'll suffer unbearably and unendingly.
Matthew 25:46 - "And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

If I miss heaven, I'll never again have the opportunity to praise and worship Jehovah.
II Thessalonians 1:7-9 - "And to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power."

If I miss heaven, I'll abide forever with the most horrific characters from human history.
Revelation 21:8,27 - "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death...But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life."

If I miss heaven, I'll be punished with the demons.
Matthew 25:41 - "Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.'"

If I miss heaven, I'll not have one friend or loved one to mourn my fate.
Revelation 21:4 - "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." Those in hell will be consumed with their own suffering (not mine), and those in heaven will not mourn the destruction I brought upon myself because of my sins.

If I miss heaven, I'll be lost forever.
Revelation 14:9-11 - "Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, 'If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name." To suffer forever and ever is to be eternally lost; it is to have no hope.

Friends, what could be worse than missing heaven? Absolutely nothing. "Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell" (Matt. 10:28). Fear God, dear listeners--believe, repent, and be baptized into the name of Jesus for the remission of your sins! True success is living your life for God and going to heaven. Nothing else really matters. If we can be of assistance to you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact us.
